Specialists of FSBI VIMS provide methodological support and expert-advisory service on solid mineral objects, including support and examination of results of works on 219 types of natural resources under order of Rosnedr.

Independent task of the department is to develop guidance documents to support geological prospecting and exploration works. In cooperation with GKZ, CKR-TPI Rosnedr, FSBI TsNIGRI and FSBI A.P. Karpinsky Russian Geological Research Institute FSBI VIMS develops new editions of such documents as “Regulation on the proceedings of geological prospecting and exploration work by stages”, “Methodological recommendations on the use of reserves classification and inferred resources” etc.
